What our parents ask about Chipmunks by the Bay

  • Whilst you are free to search for childcare options anytime, we suggest to do as early as you can if you are looking for a specific starting date, as well as avoiding the waitlists that many centres have.

  • Childcare fees can vary depending on the services offered. Centres that ask families to provide their own meals and supplies, such as nappies and wipes, often have lower fees due to reduced operational costs. Alternatively, centres that include freshly prepared meals and all necessary items typically charge higher fees to cover these expenses.

To see if a centre’s fees match your budget, contact them directly and speak with the Centre Director, who can give you an accurate estimate based on your Child Care Subsidy percentage. To determine if a centre’s fee schedule aligns with your financial circumstances, it is best to contact the centre directly and speak with the Centre Director. They will be able to calculate the exact out-of-pocket cost for their service based on your Child Care Subsidy percentage.

  • We provide care for children aged 0-5 years. Our programs are tailored to meet the specific needs and developmental stages of each age group.

  • We pride ourselves in our commitment to open communication with parents, providing updates both verbally and through closed facebook groups. These include your child’s meals, activities, naps and other important milestones.

  • We believe in open communication with parents. We provide daily updates, either verbally or through a dedicated communication Facebook group, to share information about your child’s day, including meals, naps, activities, and any significant milestones.

  • While toilet training is mostly recommended before beginning Kindergarten, it isn’t a requirement. We encourage each child’s individual development and work closely with parents to support a healthy transition for both child and family.

  • Childcare can be daunting, especially for first-time moms returning to work. It’s important to research nearby centres and, if possible, arrange a visit to meet the educators and understand their routines. Enrolling your child in daycare before primary school can help them develop essential social and emotional skills, adjust to separation from you, and build immunity by being exposed to common germs.
